Monday Mainlines

Earlier this week I went out to “the trassle” out in Greene County so I could walk out to the middle and take pictures of the valley below. While I was there, I heard “that lonesome whistle” and began to beat feet out of there so I wouldn’t get “stuck in the middle with you”, so to speak. I did get some good pictures of the train though.

Just the Facts: The “trassle” is actually part of the Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. Bridge X75-6, also called the Viaduct or Tulip Trestle is the third longest bridge of its type in the world at half-a-mile. The Viaduct is located near Bloomfield, Indiana, just off Highway 54.
